The Journal of Peace Research has just released a special issue on the New Frontiers of Terrorism Research, guest edited by Todd Sandler. All the issue articles are freely available until 31 July 2011 at http://jpr.sagepub.com/content/48/3.toc.

The release of the special issue includes several useful resources, including a comparison of the two main event datasets – International Terrorism: Attributes of Terrorism Events (ITERATE) and Global Terrorism Database (GTD) and a new dataset on and legislative responses to transnational terrorism. Other topics in the special issue include the social impact of interrogation methods, the consequences of aid-assisted counter-terrorism, the roots of domestic terrorism, the adverse effect of terrorism on growth, the use of experiments to study counter-terrorism, and the relationship among terrorism, trust, and income.
