My main research interest is civil war, including conflict dynamics, peace interventions, conflict management, external involvement and armed groups.
My doctoral research focuses on wartime abuses, institutional responses and their effects on individuals. My PhD project is part of the project called "All is Fair in Law and War: Judicial Behavior in Conflict-affected Societies". The doctoral dissertation traces the establishment and trajectory of institutions addressing wartime abuses and explores their effects on individuals.
I have previously conducted fieldwork in Colombia on the internal armed conflict for my MA thesis on conflict resolution/peace negotiations. I have also researched the EU’s capacity for crisis response, UN/AU peace operations and issues of governance/conflict in the Sahel, notably Mali.
