The Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) is seeking an engaged and unifying leader to strengthen peace research nationally and internationally.
As the Director of PRIO, you will lead a distinguished, international, and interdisciplinary research institute. You will assume overall responsibility for strengthening PRIO’s standing, shaping its strategic direction, and further developing the institute’s role as an independent body, renowned for its academic integrity. This will require active external engagement, underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of the research sector and its frameworks.
We seek a candidate with experience in leading knowledge-based professionals and managing organisational development within complex structures. You have relevant higher education, preferably a PhD, with research experience and a thorough understanding of research policy. As a leader, you are inclusive, inspiring, and decisive, with a passion for team-building and fostering a cohesive and trust-based working environment.
The position is a four-year term, with the possibility of renewal for up to three terms in total.
