Furthermore, he will discuss to what extent the US President Barack Obama will have the capacity to learn from the lessons of the 1990s in his ambitious diplomatic push for a renewed Middle East peace process.
Mark LeVine is a professor of history at the University of California, Irvine and a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies at Lund University, Sweden. He speaks Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, and Farsi, as well as Italian, French and German. His most recent books include Impossible Peace: Israel/Palestine Since 1989 (Zed Books, 2009) and Reapproaching Borders: New Perspectives on the Study of Israel-Palestine (Rowman Littlefield, 2008) (See more information on the latest book below).
