This workshop was co-organized by the Indian Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) and the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) as a part the IDSA-PRIO cooperation on India in the World: Emerging Perspectives on Global Challenges, and its subproject on Climate Change. The workshop brought together scholars, practitioners and civil society actors to discuss India's role as a global climate actor, and the interplay between climate change and development in contemporary Indian debates. The workshop had two themes: discussing India's support of Common but Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities (CBDR-RC); and how the interplay between climate change mitigation efforts and India's commitment to supporting and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serves to launch policies in new directions on the international stage.
