CCHN online session on Search and Rescue operations in the Mediterranean Maria Gabrielsen Jumbert and Kristina Roepstorff presented their work under the RedLines project in an online thematic session organized by the CCHN (Centre of Competence on Humanitarian Negotiation) on Search and Rescue operations in the Mediterranean. They were joined by Juan Matías Gil from MSF Mediterranean and Barbara Sartore from the CCHN.
In their presentation, they discussed what makes the maritime space into a particular humanitarian space, how the political climate impacts this humanitarian negotiation space, and which ethical dilemmas the rescuers face. A short summary of their key insights can be found here and the recording of the session can be found here.
