From 5 to 12 December 2024, we invite the people of Oslo and beyond to discuss and learn more about peace, freedom democracy, and human rights.
The City of Oslo, the Nobel Peace Center, the Norwegian Nobel Institute, the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), and the University of Oslo work with peace and human rights in various ways.
Together we have established Oslo Peace Days, to put Oslo on the map as an international city of peace, and to gather people to discuss and learn about topics related to peace, freedom, democracy and human rights.
Oslo Peace Days begins on 5 December with the awarding of the University of Oslo's human rights prize. The highlight is the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize at the City Hall on 10 December, followed by a torchlight parade to the Grand Hotel in the evening. On 12 December, the event concludes with the opening of the year's peace prize exhibition at the Nobel Peace Center. Throughout the week, the five partners invite you to lectures and conversations about human rights, freedom, and democracy.
