Håvard Mokleiv Nygård successfully defended his thesis at the University of Oslo on Friday 31 January. His thesis is titled Five Essays on the Political Economy of Regime Survival.
He has been a student with the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo, and an associated researcher at PRIO's Centre for the Study of Civil War (CSCW).
The opponents were Dr. Kristin Bakke, University College London, and Dr. Michael Colaresi, Michigan State University. The work of the evaluation committee has been coordinated by Professor Jon Hovi of the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo.
