Scott Gates has been awarded the 2014 Herbert Simon Award together with John Brehm of the University of Chicago. This prestigious award is given out annually to scholars who have made significant contributions to the scientific study of bureaucracy and public administration.
The Herbert Simon award is conferred by the Midwest Public Administration Caucus, and gets its name from the first political scientist to receive the Nobel Prize in Economics. It is the highest award in the field of political science for the study of bureaucracy and public administration. Gates and Brehm will deliver the Herbert Simon Lecture at the 2014 Midwest Political Science Association conference this April.
