On Saturday 5 November, Scott Gates gave the presidential address at the 56th annual meetings of the Peace Science Society (International) in Denver, USA.
This marked the end of the conference and Scott's two-year term as President of the Society. Scott's talk, which focused on contestation and organization as two fundamental principles of military actors, will be published in the Society's own journal Conflict Management and Peace Science next year.
