Jakob is a doctoral candidate at the DPIR, University of Oxford. At PRIO, he is engaged in the Conflict Trends and ANTICIPATE projects. Jakob’s research focuses on cross-border insurgencies. His project draws on quantitative and geospatial techniques, as well as in-depth studies of Central African and South Asian conflicts, to analyse the interplay of bilateral diplomacy and political violence in border areas.

Before beginning his DPhil, Jakob earned a BA from the University of Oslo and an MPhil from University of Oxford.
