Kia Michaelsen is on an internship in the Communication Department at PRIO as part of her Master's Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Oslo.

Kia completed her Bachelor's Degree in International Studies from the University of Innland Norway in 2023, as well as a one-year course in Arabic Language and Culture from the University of Bergen.

Kia served six months as an intern at the Norwegian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and also worked as a Research Assistant with the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment (FFI).

Her academic background and practical experience has provided her with a strong foundation in international relations, global security and cross-cultural communication, with a particular interest in the Middle East.

Kia speaks Norwegian, English and intermediate-level Arabic.
