Muzammel Huq was guest researcher at PRIO for two periods in 1977 and 1978 while working on his PhD thesis at Oxford University. Upon leaving Oxford in 1979, he returned to Bangladesh, while remaining an external research associate at PRIO. He is currently (2011) Chairman of the Board of Grameen Bank.
