Tor Egil Førland was a research fellow at PRIO 1988–90, while writing his doctoral dissertation on CoCom and economic warfare. He later became professor of History at the University of Oslo. From 2025 he is once again affiliated with PRIO while writing a biography of its founder, Johan Galtung.
