In July 2015, the International Hellenic University (www.ihu.edu.gr), in partnership with Charles University of Prague, Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) Cyprus Centre and with the support of the LSEE-Research on South Eastern Europe will organize a 2-week intensive Summer Seminar for students and graduates of Political Science, History, Anthropology, International Relations, International Law, Journalism and other related disciplines. This will be the 3rd time the Summer School takes place, after two successful previous years in Greece and the Czech Republic.
The general theme of the Summer School is Nationalism, Religion and Violence in SE Europe**.** A key goal of the Summer School is to contribute in a substantial way to the study of violence and to catalyze the growth of the study of violence as a field. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to forge valuable connections with one another and with senior scholars working on various aspects of violence.
The School took place from June29-July 10 2015 in the premises of the International Hellenic University, Thessaloniki, Greece. Additional activities include trips to nearby sites of interest, museum and city tours. PRIO Cyprus Centre supports the School academically and symbolically financially through the provision of two full tuition scholarships (or partial equivalents) for highly qualified candidates.
This project continues to develop as one of the leading initiatives of the Centre.
