This paper aims to shed light on north Cyprus’s struggle against COVID-19 and the effects of the Cyprus Problem on that effort. It evaluates the problems of this de facto state in its efforts to deal with a global pandemic, including reflection on relations with its sponsor state, Turkey. The policy brief also examines the stances of the European Union (EU), WHO, the United Nations (UN), and other international organizations towards the struggle of people in unrecognized entities in the context of a health crisis that, arguably, should prompt more, rather than less, international cooperation.
