In recent years, the Sustainable Brief Points Development Goals (SDGs) have been endorsed by actors who were previously skeptical of universalist agendas, such as Muslim humanitarians and Islamic aid organizations. Now these groups are increasingly embracing the SDGs. This brief examines how SDGs are implemented and interpreted by Muslim humanitarian actors and explores the potential implications of this shift. Drawing on our research in the ‘Muslim Humanitarians and the SDGs’ (HUMA) project, we present insights from Indonesia, Nigeria, and Pakistan.
