"Ethics and Natural Law in Eric Voegelin’s Anamnesis" -- an exploration of the basis of ethics in the German-American political philosopher Eric Voegelin's arguably most important book on ethics and morality: Anamnesis (1966).This paper goes into the view of ethics and nature that is displayed in Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics and Politics, and it goes from there to exploring several modern commentators' interpretations of this, most notably Eric Voegelin's in Anamnesis (1966). The paper concludes with a topical discussion of the relationship between particularist and universalist ethics in a pluralistic, conflict-ridden world, based on Aristotle's and Voegelin's insights.
