The Handbook of Research Methods in Migration is a timely contribution to the literature on methods in migration research. As a handbook, it does a very good job of identifying important themes for students and scholars of migration. Significantly, the handbook spans the divide between quantitative and qualitative research, as well as that between “forced” and “voluntary” migration. Furthermore, it includes chapters discussing research with particularly vulnerable groups, such as migrants who are sans papier. As a result, the handbook may also provide valuable insight for policymakers and practitioners who relate actively to migration research and, thus, have a need for an awareness of the research methods that produce the findings that they are interested in.
