Nimet Beriker, professor of conflict resolution, has been appointed Global Fellow.
Nimet was the founding faculty member of Sabanci University’s Graduate Program on Conflict Analysis and Resolution in Istanbul, Turkey (1998-2014). Her research focuses on international negotiation, dynamics of third party intervention, mediation, middle power foreign policy, and mixed methodology. Her publications have appeared in Simulation and Gaming; The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science; Journal of Social Psychology; Security Dialogue; International Journal of Conflict Management; Foreign Policy (Turkish edition); The Brown Journal of World Affairs; Journal of Applied Social Psychology; and Negotiation and Conflict Management Research. She has offered conflict resolution and mediation training courses and has facilitated workshops with a number of government agencies, NGOs, and community groups in Turkey. During 2014-17 she served as the Chair and Professor of conflict resolution in the Political Science and International Relations Department, at Mardin Artuklu University, Turkey. Currently, she is a member of the International Academic Advisory Council for the Mediation Initiative of the Department for Political Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat. She was appointed a PRIO Global Fellow in 2017.
