Håvard Hegre has been awarded a European Research Council Advanced Grant of EUR 2.5 million for the project ANTICIPATE - Anticipating the impact of armed conflict on human development.
This is Hegre's second ERC Advanced Grant: In 2017, he was awarded funding for developing the Violence Early-Warning System (ViEWS). He is one of 253 leading researchers across Europe receiving this funding in this round, and one of four Norwegian researchers.
Hegre is a Research Professor at PRIO and a Dag Hammarskjöld Professor of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University. The ANTICIPATE project will build upon and further develop ideas and research from the ViEWS project, and will further strengthen the collaboration and research bonds between PRIO and Uppsala University. The project will complement the Societies at Risk programme directed by Hegre at Uppsala University.
Congratulations to Håvard and his colleagues in Oslo and Uppsala!
