Led by Ilaria Carrozza

Jan 2025 – Dec 2025

The project assesses the geopolitical, economic, and security competition between the U.S. and China in the Indo-Pacific—a region that is key to global trade, innovation, and security—and identifies concrete implications of relevance for Norwegian security and defence policy. It emphasizes the risks for Norway stemming from economic and technological dependence on China given its growing influence and assertiveness. The project aims to provide policy recommendations for improving Norway’s preparedness and security, while building stronger alliances with the U.S., European, and Indo-Pacific countries.
