Giacomo works on several research projects that investigate different aspects of how digital technologies influence international security and global affairs. His PhD project examines digital tech procurement in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines amid great-power rivalry between the U.S. and China. He leads a MoD project on the security implications of the "new space race" for Norway. He coordinated the Peace Research summer school and co-leads PRIO Security and Technology Research Group.
